The Pearl Upon The Surface

浦东之地,简直繁荣过人! 这就是上海经典只点!

Judging from this picture and the previous one from Puxi, doesn't Pudong just look as classy as Shanghai supposed to be than Puxi? At first I thought Shanghai was just a land of city, cars and everything. But there's actually a very interesting thing that makes Shanghai even more interesting. I believe everyone knows about 'Tao' this thing, even people from the west would've seen the symbol of 'Tao' before. Shanghai is actually the land of 'Tao' on the map. The reason of why Shanghai is divided into two parts, namely Puxi and Pudong is because this river called 'Huangpu River' (黄浦江) is placed in the middle of this big city Shanghai... And this Huangpu River is 'S' shape, the shape of Shanghai is round, so you can now figure why Shanghai has this 'Tao' land thing. *Sorry my explanation sucks*
That day was the best trip of all China's other city's trip. Visiting to the Pearl Tower and so much more interesting place to visit. I was the most exciting person in the bus to explore these places, just for some reasons. My flaming passion was beginning to burn even more! So we were asked to take a picture of 'Shanghai Welcome You' as soon as we reach to the 'People Square' (人民广场). I thought I have the picture... Oh wait, I'll post that picture at the end of this blog post. The picture above was me right at the People Square, standing and posing for a picture. I like the picture, and the quality, not to say I praise myself, no definitely no...! Just posing, that's all...!

Like I said, Malaysian-born people are less stronger in cold place since we're not born to endure all these colds. And I, was shivering from the head to the bottom of my leg. I just noticed I wasn't wearing winter jacket but autumn ones. Darn! No wonder I was so cold and couldn't even bear with it! But still it's good since it reduced much shivers from the atmosphere. And I ended up running around in the People Square until my body is all heated up. Oh well, lesson of the day, never wear autumn jacket for winter! Even the Shifu also laughed at me 'Better be in the car', of course I won't get offended easily by people's jokes, they're all having fun and I'll join them =F Moving on to our next destination... After lunch, of course. The Pearl Tower! I'm sure everyone of you saw this thing before, even better than Kuala Lumpur Tower! Sorry Malaysia, but I just can't keep comparing countries I've been staying and visited...!

Hello, Pearl Tower! I'm so happy happy happy happy happy! We're finally going to the Pearl Tower, the most classical place in Shanghai, woohoo! I love Pudong! Oh my, oh my, oh my. Sincere there were no local guide, Mr. Gao guided us for the whole Shanghai trip, I think he's the master of 'Shanghai' touring... Who knows?

Doggy, doggy! Cute, cute! I always love doggies! Golden Retriever, my favourite species! You might be wondering why is a dog picture randomly appear in this Shanghai post, well it's because I saw this dog in front of the Pearl Tower, owner was a police. Not in ages in Malaysia I'll see a police holding a cute doggy and walk around like this. This dog has a special mission, and the mission was I don't know, read it yourself it's on his shirt. I wonder if this dog is fierce or not, oh well, even if I could touch him the police wouldn't let me. Entering into the Pearl Tower is like checking into the airport. You have to declare all your belongings and have to go through the Radiation Scanner to scan whether you have bombs or not. Recalling from the last trip I went to Kuala Lumpur Tower, there wasn't any scanners like that before going up to the top. I suppose they're more aware of this bomb thing. Everything that involves liquid (except the blood in your body) isn't allowed to bring into the tower.

What do you think 'bout my photo capturing skill? Not bad eh? Haha, sorry about that. I forgot to bring the digital camera down and left it in the bus, had to take it back after the bus came back so I used my cell phone to capture this and many more photos. I might consider to make a digital photo gallery in this blog if I'm free. This photo was taken at the top of the Pearl Tower, so you can basically get the overworld view for the whole Shanghai. I can see Huangpu River and Puxi clearly, since the tower is located at Pudong. Beside this Pearl Tower, there are two sister-towers accompanying this Pearl Tower, check it out.

Can you see the tallest tower at the right side? Yeap, that's the sister-towers to Pearl Tower. The saw-like tower is actually built by the Japanese, and owner is Japan. Base on what I heard, this tower wasn't supposed to look like this. Back in 2006, the Japan ambassador had a meeting with the China ambassador and discussed to build a tower in Shanghai and wanted to launch it at 2008.8.8, the Olympic day in Beijing. Then the China said yes and they signed the contract. So then after maybe like some times, the Japan sent China the tower's design sketch, immediately China wanted the project to stop. Why? Because the design of the tower was originally designed to have a sword or knife on top of hat tower and the sword/knife... was facing directly to the Pearl Tower. If I was the China government I will too never tolerate such design and put a stop for this design so Japan changed the design and it's today's this saw tower. Well this IS just what I heard, I cannot give you a confirmation of this story, so don't be too offended, just sharing out the things I heard. Anyway let's just take it as a story and moving on to the next tower, the second-tall tower beside that Japan tower. No one dared to build anything beside this tower only the Japan people, because the tower was built with sharp-knifes on the tower's body, you can see how pricky it is the tower by the photo here. The Japan's tower has this 'reflection' technique to reflect it back I think, I don't know at all! Ah never mind. It's all 'fengshui' thing.

The next place we visited was this 'Standing In The Air', I was standing in the middle of the air! The truth is, I was stepping on the glass which is visible to the... ground... from... high up! At first I was really scared, when I looked down, I almost screamed out until my stupid sister went to the glass floor and jumped for a little and I screamed 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!', it wasn't just me, many people were really scared. My mom has acrophobia, I think I have a little. But I managed to overcome this little fear and jump around at the glass floor. However I jumped, the glass floor will never collapsed but got my mother worried sick, LOL! That's me dancing to 'Girls bring the boys out!' Yuri's signature pose, that's why I have this Me Gusta thing on my face! I found Me Gusta is shooooo funny =P There were also lots of foreigners there. American, Japanese, British, Korean and more and more. You couldn't refuse to come visit such awesome place! Right?! So international, so classy, I like it like it like it! And cuz I like it like it like it like it.

After that Pearl Tower exploration, we went to the museum where they show the old Shanghai. I manage to capture some of the pictures, but due to the text limitation, I have to jump to the next destination, 上海滩/外滩, very famous place thanks to the movie adaption. As in the picture you can see how beautiful it is, and by the people dress, you can tell how cold it was. Maybe not as cold as some of the places you all live. Beijing is even colder, it's snowing there.

The big big big big big family with the red banner!
Alright time to conclude this post!
Oh wait, where's my Shanghai Welcome You picture?!
